Professional EICR Testing & Certification

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal document produced following an assessment of the electrical installation within a property. Our qualified electricians test every circuit, identify any defects and provide a detailed report with coding to indicate the severity of any issues found.

Since June 2020, landlords in England are legally required to have an EICR carried out on their rental properties before new tenancies begin, and at least every five years thereafter. Failure to comply can result in fines of up to £30,000. Whether you are a landlord meeting your legal obligations, a homeowner wanting peace of mind, or a business ensuring workplace safety, our thorough EICR service has you covered.

Our EICR Services Include

  • Landlord EICR certificates
  • Homeowner condition reports
  • Commercial EICR testing
  • Pre-purchase electrical surveys
  • Insurance requirement reports
  • Remedial work from EICR findings
  • Re-inspection and re-testing
  • Detailed photographic reports

Understanding EICR Coding

When an EICR is carried out, any observations are given a classification code to indicate the nature and urgency of the issue. Understanding these codes is important so you know what action is required:

C1
Danger Present

Risk of injury exists. Immediate remedial action is required. The installation or part of it may need to be switched off until the issue is resolved.

C2
Potentially Dangerous

A defect exists that could become dangerous. Urgent remedial action is required to prevent the situation from worsening into a C1 classification.

C3
Improvement Recommended

An improvement is recommended but the defect does not pose an immediate or potential danger. The installation does not fully comply with current regulations but was compliant at the time of installation.

FI
Further Investigation

Further investigation is required to determine the nature and extent of the defect. This may involve opening up parts of the installation or carrying out additional tests.

If your EICR reveals any C1 or C2 codes, remedial work is required before the installation can be deemed satisfactory. We can carry out all necessary remedial work and re-test the installation to provide you with a satisfactory report. C3 observations are advisory and do not require immediate action, but we recommend addressing them when practical to bring your installation in line with current standards.
